Mike Cox – Managing Director

Qualifications: BSc. Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA)
Experience and Specialisms: Corporate Finance – arranging finance and facilities for new and existing clients. Mergers & Acquisitions – assisting clients buy and sell businesses including management buy outs. Audit and statutory accounting work – acting as independent auditor and/or providing statutory accounting work in small and large companies including PLC work. Business Consulting – working with management to improve systems and processes including acting as quasi finance director. Tax advice – providing proactive and timely personal and corporate tax advice.
Outside work: Mike is a Hillingdon Borough Councillor, leader of the Liberal Democrat Group and member of the Pensions Committee. He is also the Vice-Chair of the Governing body of Whiteheath Junior School and Treasurer of The Nyumbani Trust.
Dermot Costello – Tax Director

Qualifications: Chartered Tax Adviser
Experience and Specialisms: Dermot has over 20 years’ experience in advising private clients and owner-managed businesses. He has several professional services clients including personal service companies. He has advised on many corporate reorganisations and identifies tax planning opportunities for high net-worth individuals. Dermot leads up the Tax and People Services department at Cox Costello & Horne and his responsibilities include personal and corporate tax, payroll, company secretarial matters and IT systems.
Outside work: Dermot enjoys holidays with his young family, including camping in the UK and Europe. He also enjoys playing golf and football, and watching rugby and other sports.
Nick Bush – Finance Director

Qualifications: Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA)
Experience and Specialisms: Nick has over 35 years financial experience having worked in many corporate finance departments, including Safeway, Glaxo and Aquascutum. He spent 10 years working for Tibbett & Britten Group, one of the UK’s largest logistics providers in a number of senior roles, including Finance Director of a Joint Venture with IBM. In 2000 Nick joined Cox Costello & Horne and heads up the management accounting and outsourcing department. The department has grown significantly and continues to provide valuable support to their clients.
Outside work: Nick is married with two grown up children. He helps his wife run her own children’s nursery and is a member of Grimsdyke Golf Club.
Zak Iqbal – Accounts and Audit Director

Qualifications: BA (Hons), Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA)
Experience and Specialisms:
Business start ups, accounts and audit (Registered as a Senior Statutory Auditor), of a wide variety of companies in many business sectors including the audit of solicitors practices, and general insurance.
Forensic accounting and litigation support, intellectual property disputes, dispute resolution, expert witness and due diligence, professional negligence, share valuations.
Commercial: debt collection and management, business consultancy, advisor to owner managed businesses and their directors.
Taxation compliance and planning, providing proactive personal and corporate tax and commercial advice.
Former director, shareholder and founder, of what is now Optical Express the leading eye laser vision Correction Company in the United Kingdom.
Outside work: Married with three children. Cricket all rounder, with an amateur cricket club in the Hertfordshire League. Committee member of the cricket club, and former governor of Leeds University (chair of the Remuneration committee). Reading, chess, theatre, charity work, gym, football (soccer and grid iron) family life.
